Geblicon, The Novel: This is a sci-fi story about a young man and woman growing 
up in a very troubled time in the mid-21st century. The planet is slowly recovering 
from almost irreversible ecological and environmental damage caused by a nuclear 
holocaust in the year 2045. Hundreds of millions died in the conflict. Prior to 
the war, advances in bio-engineering and DNA research produced startling changes 
in plant and animal diversity. During the war, scientists on both sides produced 
animal species with near human intelligence, using them as ‘special commandos’ 
in teams numbering in the thousands. During the peak of the conflict, the United 
States suffered multiple nuclear hits, mostly on military targets, with the country’s 
larger cities spared destruction. The story opens in 2070 a.d. The setting is 
the western half of the United States. Our hero and heroine live on adjoining 
ranches in the southwestern corner of Colorado, one ranch specializing in factory 
production of bulk grain nutrients, the other raising New World ‘Shanths’, super-sized 
horses with incredible strength and stamina. In Chapter One, the main characters 
are introduced and the stage set. The action kicks off with a harrowing hunting 
scene, dead Shanths, accusations flying and a night-time escape from the long
